Eritrea

Eritrea is an independent country since 1993. Its beautiful Red Sea coast and the ancient port of Messawa may be consider as an extension from a trip to Ethiopia. Ancient port of Massawa, the Dahalak archipelago in the Red Sea, (in which there is a possibility of diving in the most limpid waters spangled of mountains of corals).

Great African Rift Expedition

An exceptional journey through the Ethiopian Rift and the Awash valley. Wildlife, traditional culture and mineral wonders. Discovering geological and volcanic phenomena (geyser, fumaroles, active volcano…), cruising in the danakil desert and depression, meeting the Afar leading their camels through that desert…

Trekking (8 to 15 days)

In the mountains of Bale or the Semien. Extraordinary landscapes, abundant and rich natural environment, including many endemic species.

The canyons of the Semien Mountains are among the most impressive of the world (3km deep), two endemic mammals will be found there: Walia ibex and Gelada baboon.

  • The Bale, where abundant fauna is living, is a particular biotop. Wonderful landscapes, unique fauna and flora.
  • The Omo-Akobo region, cradle of the Nilotic tribes, may only be visited by trekking. No road, no way to meet the Surma, the remotest tribe.

Safaris

Numerous possibilities, and particularly the bird-watching. Ethiopia is homeland for many endemic species of birds and games.

Rift Valley

Programs lead you to discover the volcanic phenomena of the Great African Rift: active volcano, geysers, fumaroles, hot springs… in a beautiful mineral landscape.
